I’m back, bitches! And we’re just in time for everybody’s favorite: Wishlist Wednesdays.

Now, because my very loving and awesome boyfriend promised to find one of these with me, the topic was sort of forced upon me. Nevertheless, these water bottles are totally awesome and I’ve been waiting to find one ever since I read about it around 6 months ago.
Made in the USA. Water Bobble is very environmentally conscious, and by manufacturing their products in the US, they not only ensure American jobs but they also reduce their carbon footprint.
Certified BPA-Free. Bisphenol A, more commonly known as BPA, is “an organic compound with two phenol functional groups. It is a difunctional building block of several important plastics and plastic additives.”[1] BPA has long been suspected to be dangerous to humans, causing negative effects on fetal and infant brain development and behavior; increased risk of obesity; several neurological issues; negative effects on the thyroid function; a possible increase in the risk of certain cancers including breast, neuroblastoma, prostate, and myeloma; heart disease; endocrine disorders; and much more. Folks, this stuff is REAL bad. Who knew? Thankfully, Water Bobble is FDA certified and BPA-free.
Recycled. The Bobble is made from recycled PET (RPET) and is 100% recyclable.
Reusable. You can refill and reuse the Water Bobble over and over again. The filter can be used on up to 40 gallons of water, or about 2 months/300 uses, before it needs to be replaced. The filter uses “an activated carbon filter which has a slight electro-positive charge, making it attractive to chemicals and impurities. As the water passes over the positively charged carbon surface, the negative ions of the contaminants are drawn to the surface of the carbon granules…[It] removes organic contaminants from regular municipal tap water and meets or exceeds NSF International Standard 42 for chlorine, taste, and odor reduction.”[2]
Get this: They’ll even send you a replacement cap for free if you lose it! Personally, I like the idea of these a lot. It’s environmentally friendly, it has a cool looking design with different colored filters (black, red, green, blue, yellow, and pink), and at only $10 per bottle and $6.75 per replacement filter, it’s also cheap.
What do you think? Will it wean you off of bottled water? Or are we forever doomed to contaminate our planet and oceans with all this plastic crap? I say the former. Especially right now, with the oil spill in the gulf. People are feeling extra environmentally-friendly these days (as they should) and the bobble is definitely a step in the right direction. But that’s just my opinion! Leave a comment or shoot me an email at LaBellePaillette@gmail.com. Happy Shopping!
